On the bright side, the primary instructor emailed me and apologized for the other one. She said she wasn’t sure if she should stop the lecture and correct her or let it go and keep things moving so as to avoid a scene. That she didn’t know which way I would want it.
I generally correct people in small groups… I dunno about a large classroom. That just seems like attention I don’t want. If the secondary had done it once and pressed on, then this wouldn’t have been an issue, its the fact that she went for a pronoun world record that got attention.
Sometimes when I’m reading these stories to put on Trans* Success, I get a little disheartened. One of them I’m reading right now… the guy was CLEARLY male identified. He lived as a man in one of the toughest male professions in western history. Went by a man’s name. No one knew he was female assigned at birth except apparently a few very close friends who weren’t talking. It was only discovered upon his death by the undertaker. And it kills me that he’s listed on “female western heroes”. Um… he’s male. True, we can’t go back and ask him what his gender identity was. But apparently the guy had no desire to be identified as female.
Yet this article is like “He was a woman!”. And they go into all this “shocking” detail about all his male habits while they keep going back to his being a woman because he was born female. Regardless of how he lived. Yes, sometimes women chose to go under male names for some things, but when you read about someone and its SO obvious that everything they did was male, their habits were male, they lived their entire life since childhood as male… its disappointing to read words like “woman”, “disguised”, “nobody knows why she chose” to live as a man. Um… I can take a wild guess.
I may be being sensitive today because I’ve had a very bad gender day. Fucking teacher chose to call me “she”, “her”, and “herself” 10 x in under a minute in class, causing some other guys to chuckle. So depressing.
I can’t believe I’m crazy enough to accept a 2nd job. I really don’t want one. My boss has a friend in a different department that also needs a worker so my boss propositioned me for a 2nd job. The other boss likes the idea cause apparently I’m a good worker. So, it looks like they’re gonna put me to work asap. Lets see how 2 jobs and full college courses goes eh?
…I don’t put my binder on from the feet up….
Neither do I. I wrestle it over my head and shoulders and kind of squish it around from there :P
I think it’d be amusing to watch for others
lol I’ve never done that, but I do put my sports bras on the same way I do my binder. Arms first, then pull over the head and snug down.
