    Trans* Success

My new blog that is all about transgendered role models and will include the trans males, trans females, androgynous, bigendered, genderqueer, cross dressers, intersexed, and everyone else under the trans* umbrella.  Got a long que formed already of posts.  Some you may remember from my page, others are new.  Trying not to bombard the blog at once with a ton of photos.  So expect a day or two of set up but then you should have a large selection of people to look through and trust me the selection will grow.

By the way… looking for volunteers to help post to the blog.

Hung Up on Our Bullies: Internalized Transphobia

Sometimes I just want to take a break from being transgender. But I know how truly liberated I feel on those days when I can fully own who I am. Luckily those self-ownership days slowly seem to outnumber the self-hating ones. I still get envious sometimes, but I am slowly replacing the voices in my head, those voices of the bullies and harassers, with voices that celebrate what makes me unique, different and, well, me. Yes, it’s so corny, but I don’t think we’re going to be able to fully come together as a community politically until each of us can confront our own internalized transphobia and how it affects how we treat ourselves and each other. By doing the work to love ourselves more, I believe we will love each other better.

Gender Now Coloring Book, by Maya Christina Gonzales (Amazon | Preview on Issuu)
“Gender is something relevant to all of us because we all express gender. You may or may not be transgender. You may or may not know a transgender child. The truth is that doesn’t matter. We are all on this planet together. Gender Now is meant to provide reflection and support unity by showing multiple genders standing together. It is a specific opportunity to create balance and awareness by including gender expressions that are under-represented in our current culture.”
I stumbled upon this great book recently when seeking out trans* and genderqueer resources - what a fabulous idea! The presentation makes it easy to follow for someone who is new to the idea of non-binary and trans* gender expression, with particular accessibility for young people. I love how it is gender diversity positive and body-positive, with lines like “There are LOTS AND LOTS of different types of bodies. This means there are LOTS AND LOTS of different ways to feel like a girl or boy or simply a person on the inside of your body. In fact, there are so many different bodies and ways to feel inside your body what we really need are more words than just boy and girl.” Cute and whimsical illustrations. Bear in mind that the terminology is not always technical or preferable - the intention is to make these concepts easy to grasp and fun to learn about. Also available in a classroom version. Highly recommended!

Art of Transliness: Everything You Need to Know about Binders and Binding

    artoftransliness:

Lately we’ve had a lot of questions about binders: how to get them, how to wear them, and how to care for them. We thought it best to compile to answers to all of these questions for future reference.

How can I get a binder if I can’t afford one?

A lot of guys give away their binders after…

    Excellent information
